UPDATE: CCP Threats Push Community to Cancel Human Rights Film Screening
Co-hosts of a local church screening of human rights film State Organs were forced to make the difficult decision to move the screening to an online session after two consecutive bomb threats were sent to event organisers by suspected CCP proxies. The documentary exposes China’s state-run forced organ harvesting transplant industry, where prisoners of conscience are killed on demand for their vital organs.
The event was co-hosted by St John’s Evangelical Church in Campbelltown and local Falun Gong practitioners. The co-hosts made the difficult decision in consultation with local police to cancel the live event, to ensure community safety and wellbeing.
“A bomb has been placed at the Church. If the event is not cancelled by tomorrow night, cooperation with Falun Gong is not terminated and a statement is not made online, the bomb will be detonated”

“Since you insist on carrying out anti-Communist and inhumane activities… at future screenings… we will infiltrate as viewers, open fire killing everyone…”

“The wellbeing and safety of local communities is of utmost importance. We strongly condemn these acts of transnational repression from the CCP. Such violent threats and abusive tactics have no place in Australia, a free country,” says Dr Lucy Zhao, President of the Falun Dafa Association.
We continue to be gravely concerned about the escalation of violent threats against the Australian Falun Gong community and the broader public who stand up against human rights abuses in China. We are alarmed at the growing trend of these Transnational Repression incidents observed globally in the last 18 months.
Freedom House recently released a dedicated report on Australia, “More Action Needed to Ensure Safety: Combating Transnational Repression in Australia” recommending the government examine whether a Senate inquiry into Australia’s current responses to transnational repression is warranted.
