UPDATE: 2nd Bomb Threat & Mass Shooting
Message Against Human Rights Film Screening
Escalating Attacks Target Sydney Community Groups
We continue to be gravely concerned about the escalation of violent threats against the
Australian Falun Gong community and the broader public who stand up against human
rights abuses in China.
On Thursday, November 27th a SECOND bomb threat and explicit violent messages of mass shooting were received by the organisers of a human rights film screening in Sydney.
The event is co-hosted by the Campbelltown Falun Gong practitioners and a local St John the Evangelist Church.
“I am deeply concerned that the recent bomb threats could have caused distress or fear
among the people of Campbelltown. Acts like this can impact the sense of safety within our
community,” said Julia Ye, a Campelltown-based Falun Gong practitioner and one of the organisers.
“I sincerely appreciate the calm, understanding and strong support shown by St John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Their compassion and courage in continuing to support the movie event demonstrates the strength and unity of our local community”.
The film screening of an award-winning documentary State Organs is scheduled for Saturday November 29. The film details the ongoing human rights atrocities of forced organ harvesting in China.

The anonymous message was shared by the Eventbrite administrators, who also reassured that all relevant law enforcement agencies have been notified of the security alert.
Two days earlier, on November 25th another message was shared by Eventbrite with similar threatening content, intimidating the organisers to cancel the event. Both incidents have since been reported to the local police, who have conducted a search of the venue and declared it safe for the public. These are the first such threats ever directed at a Falun-Gong-related event in Australia.
“I am alarmed by the severity of these threats… I appreciate the courage and kind support
from the local churches and community for standing firmly with us and continuing support
this event to raise awareness about the truth of CCP organ harvesting,” said Dr Lucy Zhao, President of the Falun Dafa Association of Australia.
“We won’t be silenced and intimidated by CCP. We are determined to continue exposingCCP crimes until such transnational repression and the persecution is stopped.”.
