In recent weeks, the Chinese Communist Regime has demonstrated to the world the ever-growing problem with receiving accurate information on the SARS epidemic. This is no surprise to those who are involved with raising awareness and attempting to end human rights abuse in China.
The World Truth Forum, organised by volunteer Falun Dafa practitioners, provided a forum on, and a picture of, human rights abuses in China for the local Australian community last night at Ashfield Town Hall in a successful fashion.

Stephen Sim from one of the most popular community radio stations, 2NSB FM, led the night with an assembly of speakers. He said; “It is not on!” about the persecution, but labeled former president Jiang as a “criminal”, while showing admiration for Falun Gong people who are “exposing the horrific crimes of the communist regime in China” and who a re “fighting the lies” of a “merciless and cruel” government.
Dr. Marie Clugston, from Amnesty International, touched upon different cases of persecution in China, giving a good overall picture of what is happening there. Giving evidence of unfair trials for Tibetans, and the application, by the regime, of names “heretical organisation” and “terrorists” to traditional and cultural groups in China, so they can “ justify human rights abuses”. Included was a story about a peaceful protest by a Muslim minority that ended in shootings of unarmed people.
Reverend Dr. Lambert-Carter, a minister and former Ambassador at Large to Asia, gave a brief history of the Christian Church in China showing its peaceful co-existence for almost two centuries and contrasted this with today’s situation, where there are “undercover churches” and persecution.
The Venerable Bagdro, Tibetan monk in exile, shared his story of three years persecution in Chinese prisons where he pleaded “please kill me now” during the vicious tortures. The prisoner’s food being dipped into the toilet and their blood was being siphoned off for the communist regime. Only released when he was near death. He recalled young boys being thrown from building to their deaths and monks being shot and hung upside down with their “heads bloated”. Also gave a good overview of China’s occupation into Tibet for the so called “help the Tibetan people” with more than 1,200,000 left dead and 6,000 monasteries destroyed.
Members of the Global Family Rescue spoke about how they are helping their persecuted families in China, Richard Chen, a Sydney resident’s brother was released recently due to international pressure and efforts by friends and fellow Falun Dafa practitioners.
David Duffy spoke the truth as he saw it. Having respect for Falun Gong and predicted that in the future “people will come to thank Falun Gong for what its doing”. He also spoke of China’s human rights having the “worst record in the world”. Being involved in Genocide of the Tibetan people, Fraternocide due to the one child policy, and “slave labour” with prisoners making products for export.
Steve Milne a researcher and practitioner of Falun Gong rounded of the night exposing Jiang’s personal crusade, his plan to “turn the country against the benevolent practice”, also a case where an 8 month old baby was tortured to death. And ended on a powerful note with the revelation of the lawsuit against Jiang and any persecutors.
The speakers followed the question and answer time in which more revelations were made about the regime in China. One gentleman stood up revealing his wife did not come in as she was scared about retribution to her family for attending the forum. Also an encounter with the public security bureau who hire staff to track down Christian groups. A local minister stood up to ask for help for his friend who was arrested only less than a month for being a Christian in Shanghai.
The successful night ended with some light entertainment and refreshments. With many wanting top stay talking late into the night. Local media and Chinese media also attended and interviewed the speakers.
