Photo Report: “Music of the Spring” in Sydney

In order to enrich Chinese culture in Australia, and to celebrate the onset of 2003 with people of Chinese extraction, volunteer Falun Dafa practitioners and Tongsong Music & Culture Promotions Inc. hosted a free variety performance. Entitled “Music of the Spring”, the event was successfully held at Marana auditorium, Hurstville entertainment centre, on the evening of Saturday 4th of January.

Nearly one thousand people from the Hurstville and wider Sydney Chinese communities watched and enjoyed the show.

The show included singing, dancing, music, storytelling and a Chinese Tang Dynasty fashion parade. Falun Dafa practitioners, Kate and Simon Vereshaka travelled from Melbourne especially to perform a newly learnt Chinese song “Precious Chinese People”, written and composed by Falun Dafa practitioners. Their performance gained the most interest and applause from the audience. They not only moved the Chinese audience with their heartfelt rendition of “Falun Dafa is Good” in Mandarin, but also with their sincere New Year wishes.

According to the performers, the theme of the show was to create a closer bond between the Australian Chinese community and Falun Dafa Practitioners in order to dispel the myths and negative portrayal of Falun Dafa that has been instigated by the Jiang regime in China.

The show successfully concluded late into the night with a movie called “Charging Out Amazon”.
