South Africa shooting incident on 28th June 2004
Why
I Appeal To You
I am David, LIANG Jialin from Ultimo, the Falun
Gong practitioner whose feet were wounded from the South Africa shooting incident
on 28th June 2004.
Myself and eight other Australians went to Johannesburg,
in response to invitations from Falun Gong practitioners there, to help raise
awareness of the genocidal persecution of Falun Gong in China since 1999, and
to serve legal papers on two visiting Chinese officials who played pivotal roles
in this persecution.
I willingly contribute my own time and money to travel
long distance in support of these lawsuits because through learning and practising
True-Good-Endure, (the core principles of Falun Gong, also translate as Truth-Compassion-Forbearance)
I have realised that as a good human being I should stand up to protect the good
when it is being harmed, and to expose the torture and killing to help stopping
it. I must not let fear of possible impediments to self-interests hold me back
from doing what I should according to my conscience.
To be genuinely "True"
(original Chinese Zhen) is to dare to tell the truth under whatever circumstances;
To
be genuinely "Good" (original Chinese Shan)" does not mean being
compassionate to evil, but dare to support the good and righteous under whatever
circumstances; This support is only with peaceful means, good men do not return
evil with evil;
And "Endure" (original Chinese Ren) does not mean
tolerating the acts of killing and torture, but genuinely care less about self-interests
when upholding "True" and protecting the "Good".
Since
its introduction to public in 1992, Falun Gong has benefited 100 million people
both in mind and body. Out of jealousy to this popularity, Jiang Zemin (former
communist head of China) hijacked the entire State machine trying to annihilate
Falun Gong.
The persecution aims directly at annihilate people’s wish to
improve themselves according to the principles of True-Good-Endure, coerce people
to lie and to turn away from good, directly destroying people’s good spirit and
is therefore most evil. Every good man would condemn this kind of utter crime
against humanity.
More than 1000 people have died from torture in this
persecution, which is now being recognised as a form of genocide. Yet this is
only the tip of the iceberg, as under the stringent control of communist State
terrorism, large amount of facts of persecution could not be transmitted out of
China easily.
For five years now (since the persecution), Falun Gong practitioners
both inside and outside of China condemned this persecution. They thought not
of their self-interests, working tirelessly to expose this crime – a persecution
of human conscience – through every possible peaceful avenue. Many of our friends
and families around the globe have also courageously stepped forward to condemn
this persecution.
In the past two years, more than 20 communist Chinese
officials of different ranking who had closely followed Jiang Zemin in this genocide
had been sued by Falun Gong practitioners in at least 10 countries and regions
outside of China. Practitioners do so not for revenge or seeking justice for personal
sufferings. They are changing their own behaviour first, to live as a real human
being, to act in accordance to conscience and basic human nature expressed in
True-Good-Endure.
Our trip to the South Africa was for exactly the same
reason.
After I returned from Johannesburg, I have been visiting many people
while my legs are recovering. I wish to use my own experience to expose the export
of Communist State Terrorism from Jiang’s circle, raising awareness and alert
from the international community, and call for acting together to stop Chinese
Communist State Terrorism’s expansion into Australia and around the world.
I
appeal to you not to ask anything for myself, but because I only wish to embody
the spirit of True-Good-Endure and be a real human being with conscience. I see
the goodness in these values and hope more people can step forward to condemn
Jiang’s State Terrorism.
If everybody in the world can be free, and no
longer be afraid for their safety, to say what is true and to uphold and protect
what is good, our world would become a much more beautiful place and my blood
would not have been shed in vain, my efforts would have been worth it.
