Offering The Gift of Beautiful Music

Practitioners around the world have been sharing a variety of talents to offer others an insight into the beauty of Falun Dafa. One way in which Falun Dafa practitioners have contributed is through composing and performing beautiful music. In our society, the western festive season and the Chinese New Year are a time for celebration, catching up with old acquaintances and sharing gifts with family and friends. During these past events, we thought it would be a nice gesture to offer our sincere thanks to the many people who have offered their kind-hearted concern about the persecution and heartfelt support for Falun Dafa, by sharing the gift of beautiful music.

With the help of several practitioners in our area, we chose a selection of melodious pieces composed by Falun Dafa practitioners from around the world and burned them onto a CD. We carefully selected 16 tracks, including ‘Pu-Du.’ The selection we chose were pieces that would be the most pleasing to our western culture here in Australia, while still maintaining a general ‘Chinese flavour’. Most of the tracks are melodious instrumentals with 2 uplifting songs sung in Chinese.

We designed a beautiful cover with an image of a lotus flower and entitled the CD “Harmonious Tranquility”. The word ‘harmony’ refers to the music’s harmonious nature and the fact that Dafa harmonises everything. All of the compositions are tranquil and beautiful to listen to. Therefore, the title “Harmonious Tranquility” came into being.

In the last six months, practitioners have given the gift of this music to hundreds of people–a gift suitable for any occasion! The music has touched the hearts of numerous people and there have been many touching stories.

After a series of Falun Dafa presentations at our local libraries, they were delighted to receive a couple of copies of “Harmonious Tranquility”, one for the librarian to take home and another for people to borrow from the library. We were also contacted by a radio station, who expressed interest in playing tracks from the CD over the air.

During the Chinese New Year, we offered a copy to all of our local Chinese restaurants. A practitioner walked into a Chinese restaurant several weeks later to discover that they were playing the CD for their patrons to enjoy. A practitioner from a different area parked outside a cafe one day and recognised the music. When she went to enquire they explained that the music had been kindly given to the café’ owners by a Falun Dafa practitioner.

Yet another time, after giving the music to a Chinese shop owner, she then commented …“You people are always so nice, I tell all my friends about you people!”
