I applaud the Noosa News for tackling a front-page report, “Too strong, too real”, on the recent Falun Gong Art Exhibition “Uncompromising Courage” and for clarifying the truth of the ongoing persecution against millions of innocent citizens inside Mainland China. An ancient exercise and meditation practice promoting the virtues of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance and independent thinking ‘challenges’ the Communist Party’s totalitarian control, quelling anything outside of its ruthless ideals!
During the horrors of the Cultural Revolution and Mao’s despotic rule, much of China’s traditions were suppressed and then demonised to finally demand of its population absolute compliance to its atheistic and state control.
As our government chooses to talk free trade agreements this week with China’s regime, which has an unprecedented record of taking over 60 million lives throughout its history, it is inevitable that we as a nation must question as to why we condemn the regime in Iraq while condoning a dictatorship that continues to repress its 1.3 billion citizens!
Our willingness to shy away from our moral responsibilities to actively resist the ‘Party’s’ avalanche of unconscionable human rights abuses against Falun Gong, Tibetan Buddhists, Christians, Muslims and many others surely casts shadows over our conscience and severely strains our hope for a more peaceful world and a greater humanity to come.
