Sydney Women Speak Out Against Brutality in China
SYDNEY
(FDI) – Australian women and Falun Gong victims of persecution will speak of continuing
escalation of violence in China at a press conference in Sydney. This is a call
for an end to the genocide in China against Falun Gong practitioners, particularly
women and children. In past 2 months a mission began to rescue orphans who have
become the youngest victims of the genocidal policy.
Torture
methods used on women: gang rapes, beatings, being thrown into male prison cells,
sleep deprivations, sexual mutilation, electrocution, forced abortions and many
more.
CONFERENCE DETAILS
WHERE:
Queen’s Square, Macquarie St
WHEN: Thursday 25 November, 12pm – 2pm
Ms
Zhang Cuiying, Sydney artist, is one of many Australian women who have suffered
such abuse. She was beaten, sleep deprived and tortured for 8 months. Ms Zhang
has travelled to over 40 countries in the past three years to raise awareness
of the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China. She is the plaintiff in a
civil action in NSW Supreme Court against former Chinese leader, Jiang Zemin and
his ‘610 Office’* for torture. The case is listed for a Status Conference on December
10, which is also International Human Rights Day.
"As a woman, I was
beaten, humiliated, and tortured in China only because I believe in ‘Truthfulness,
Compassion and Forbearance’."
