(AFDI) Australian Falun Dafa Info Centre – Australian Lisa Liang’s sister, Ms TANG Yiwen, was released on 15 March 2004 from Chatou Brainwashing Class in Baiyun District of Guangzhou City due to the rescue efforts of Falun Gong practitioners and kind-hearted people all over the world.
On February 23, Ms Tang, who had been illegally detained for over two years, was again abducted by Haizhu Police Department after she lodged a passport application, with the intention of visiting her sister in Australia.
Tang’s abduction gained international attention of people who believe in ending the injustice against human rights abuse. From February 24 2004,, telephone calls from all over the world were made into Chatou Brainwashing class, all levels of police departments in Guangzhou City and Guangdong Province, as well as the Gestapo-like office against Falun Gong (610 Offices).
The most international phone calls to Guangzhou, when Tang Yiwen was on her 17th day of hunger strike and her life was at stake. The global attention seemed to bring about the Guangzhou “610 Office” to notify Tang Yiwen’s family to pick her up. Although the office had, verbally confirmed Tang’s release, they continually monitored her by four or five to follow and watch her. Tang Yiwen was against this and claimed that she would not leave the brainwashing class as long as she was being watched and monitored. The “610 Office” ultimately decided not to send people to monitor her.
Tang Yiwen and her family members in Guangzhou, her husband (who does not practice Falun Gong) have been interrogated and threatened by the “610 Office”.
We call the police departments in Guangzhou to stop the persecution of Falun Gong immediately, respect the Constitution of China.
