Australia (FDI) Friday, 7 May 2004 – The Falun Dafa practitioners of Australia are proud to host a grand parade on Saturday, 8th May 2004 in the city centre of Sydney, joined by hundreds of practitioners from all states, to celebrate the 5th World Falun Dafa Day.
The parade, in five sections, includes cultural performances, drums & gongs, a special traditional costume performance, floats depicting the history of Falun Gong over the last 12 years and a theatrical ensemble never seen before in Australia.
This event will meanwhile attempt to bring awareness to people worldwide of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. Since 1999 thousands have been tortured to death or sent to labour camps for their belief in Truth-Compassion-Tolerance.
Schedule of Events on Saturday 8th May:
12:00pm – 1:30pm – Parade starts at the Entertainment Centre – Dixon St. – George St. – Park St. – and finishing in Hyde Park.
1:45pm – 4:00pm – Speech from Invited VIPs, Performances at Hyde Park.
Background:
‘World Falun Dafa Day’ was initially organised in 2000 to enable Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) practitioners in more than 60 countries around the world to celebrate the benefits they have experienced through Falun Dafa’s teachings of Truth, Compassion and Forbearance. It is a day to celebrate the continual spread of these principles despite China’s relentless campaign of slander and abuse towards Falun Dafa and Falun Dafa practitioners.
