By a Falun Dafa practitioner from Melbourne
On
May 15, 2004 about 300 Falun Dafa practitioners from Sydney, Canberra, and Melbourne
gathered in Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, and launched a grand
parade, revealing the moving, tragic and glorious history of Falun Dafa since
it was introduced to the public in 1992.

The parade marched along the two sides
of Swanston Street. Swanston Street is the most flourishing street in Melbourne.
The Federal Plaza, City Plaza, City Hall, and BBS TV Station are on this street.
It also connects to the main railway station and Chinatown. The parade was on
the weekend, so there were a lot of people about.
At noon, the parade started from Federal Plaza. The procession was composed of
five sections: “The World Needs Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance”, “Journey of
Falun Dafa”, “Revealing the Brutal Torture and Deaths”, “Bring Jiang to Justice”,
“Buddha Light Illuminates Everywhere”.
When
the waist drum players in the first section started out, the passersby were immediately
attracted to the parade. The waist drum and red-ribbon dance brought the essence
of traditional Chinese culture to the west.
The second section introduced the popularity of Falun Dafa. The flags of countries
and pictures showed the spectators that Falun Dafa has spread to over 60 countries
in five continents. The principle of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance” is accepted
and promoted by different nations and different races.
The third section demonstrated the cruel torture taking place in China’s
jails and forced-labor-camps.
The fourth
section illustrated the global efforts to bring Jiang Zemin and his accomplices
to justice.
In the fifth section, the Falun
Dafa practitioners, despite the persecution, unselfishly bring the beauty of Falun
Dafa to the world because of their belief in Truthfulness –Compassion-Tolerance.
One practitioner said that he alone had passed out over one thousand flyers. Many
people approached him to get a newspaper, as they were eager to learn more about
Falun Dafa. Other practitioners said that many groups of Chinese tourists accepted
the flyers and said, “Falun Gong is amazing. There are so many practitioners overseas
too!”
