Ms Zhang has been Below is the interview |
AFDI: How has your exhibition generally been received in different countries?
Zhang: I have received many of awards from Presidents, Prime Ministers, Members
of Parliament, Mayors and Councillors, as well as many letters of compliment.
Hundreds of media have also reported positively on the exhibitions.
AFDI: I believe you have even given personal gifts of your paintings to
a number of European Presidents…
Zhang: Yes. I personally met the President of Latvia, who happily received
the gift of one of my paintings. Also the President of Russia and the President
of Czech Republic have received gifts of my artwork.
AFDI: Has your exhibition been equally well received here in Australia?
Yes, a lot of media, mayors and MPs have all been very supportive and often
give speeches. One example was the opening of my exhibition in Windsor last
week. It was held in the local art gallery and the opening was attended by over
ten local officials, including Councillors and an MP, who praised my artwork
and the practice of Falun Gong.
AFDI: You do so much travelling, from small towns to large cities, yet you’ve
never charged any money for visitors to any of your exhibitions…
Zhang: I have found the form of an art exhibition is a great way for people
to see the beauty of Falun Dafa, which they may not get to see otherwise.
I wish to bring the beauty of the Chinese culture to the Australian people.
I also hope more people will know about the truth of Falun Dafa through my story
of persecution in China.
At the moment, I also want to spread the news about the lawsuit against Jiang
in China. With the help of international lawyer, Geoffrey Robertson, I am suing
the former Chinese President, Jiang Zemin, for the eight months of torture that
I received in China for practicing Falun Gong. Jiang has been sued for genocide
and crimes against humanity and many countries and now also from Australia.
Mr Robertson is confident in guiding the case through to the United Nations.
AFDI: Do you plan to extend your tour to other states of Australia?
Zhang: I am exhibiting in Melbourne in early September and hope to do more
exhibitions in other states. I can go anywhere with my artwork, though I really
like the small towns. The people there are always so nice!
