Hungary: Exposing 5 Years of Persecution in China(Photos)

Last week Hungarian, German, Ukrainian and Australian practitioners held Falun
Dafa activities in Hungary’s capital city, Budapest. Activities included a peaceful
appeal and press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy, clarifying the truth
and visiting various media outlets, embassies and parliamentarians.

On the day
before they held the press conference, practitioners visited media outlets, clarified
the truth to the staff and gave information packages, including invitations to
our press conference. Many people were moved when they heard how far the practitioners
had travelled to let them know the facts.

A Ukrainian practitioner understood
that all relevant media departments should be contacted, even sport. After visiting
other departments practitioners found that many still hadn’t heard of Falun Dafa
or the persecution. The staff was very moved and gladly directed practitioners
to more appropriate departments.

The press conference was covered by a television
station and Hungarian media agency. The Hungarian Falun Gong Information Centre
spokesperson commented that "in the last five years one thousand" practitioners
have been tortured to death and further added that "the Chinese Government
has never given a reasonable explanation for the persecution". The Amnesty
International Director in Hungary strongly urged "that the Chinese Government
[…] accounts for its mistakes".

Many passer-bys took materials, some
stopped and spoke to practitioners. One passer-by was very surprised when she
saw how scared the Chinese Embassy is. A tall heavy-duty steel fence was erected
around the whole embassy complex. One passing cyclist saw practitioners sending
forth righteous thoughts and shouted "Falun Dafa is very good! Can anybody
hear me? Stop the Persecution!". He also said that it’s important for practitioners
to be in front of the embassy and encouraged them to appeal all the time.
