Making the People Indifferent to the Persecution
The volume of propaganda
against Falun Gong by Jiang's faction is enormous. Nearly everyone under
their influence has become tired of hearing it. The first reaction of many people
is “annoyance” when they hear the words, “Falun Gong.”
This is what they
wanted to achieve with their propaganda! The campaign has achieved the expected
outcome of making people annoyed as soon as they hear or see the words “Falun
Gong,” and created an environment where everybody is indifferent to the continuous
persecution. In fact, what people feel annoyed about often is not the unreasonableness
of the lies. They simply can't bear more lies in their minds, and feel they
already have enough so-called “awareness.” In other words, they feel they already
know enough about Falun Gong.
Take for example the fabricated charge that
Falun Gong is responsible for killing people. In the beginning of the persecution,
people doubted the government's claims that Falun Gong kills people. Later
when there were more and more “news” reports such as “Falun Gong practitioners
kill their neighbors,” and “Falun Gong practitioners kill their relatives,” people
were not startled because they had already become used to hearing such lies. In
the next phase, the propaganda machine staged a self-immolation, pushing everyone's
conception of the so-called “evilness of Falun Gong” to a higher level than ever.
Then, after repeated propaganda conditioned people to see Falun Gong as “a cult
that leads people to commit suicide and murder,” and did not expect anything more
evil, they suddenly heard that a Falun Gong practitioner “poisoned 14 beggars,”
and wanted to kill all the people in the world. Once again, the propaganda went
beyond people's expectations. Few people could recognize the increasingly
more despicable lies, coming one after another.
Under this circumstance,
Falun Gong practitioners want to explain and exonerate themselves. Some deceived
people cast disdainful looks at practitioners exposing the truth, or even equate
Falun Gong practitioners' acts of exposing the persecution with the deceitful
propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and think it disturbs their everyday
lives. This is actually what the suppressors wanted to achieve: deeply embedded
misunderstanding and hatred towards Falun Gong in people's hearts.
10. Act From the Inside in Coordination With Attacks From the
Outside
The Chinese populace live under a blockade of news from sources
outside China. To make these people believe that the whole world is eradicating
Falun Gong, and to use the idea of eradicating Falun Gong to boost people's
patriotic passion with respect to their fellow countrymen living abroad, it is
necessary for the regime to “act from the inside in coordination with attacks
from the outside”.
For example, in May 2001, the Chinese Embassy in Canada
called together the overseas Chinese leaders in the eastern suburbs to “expose
and criticize Falun Gong”. The People's Daily immediately borrowed the words
of the “overseas Chinese” to once again “expose and criticize Falun Gong” inside
China, and all the big and small media in China dutifully reprinted these stories.
The Chinese people could not help but believe people outside China also oppose
Falun Gong.
A gentleman from Montreal who attended the meeting happened
to be publicly supportive of Falun Gong. Resisting the pressure, he loaned his
office to Falun Gong practitioners to use as a practice site. He told practitioners
afterwards that he said nothing at the meeting. However in the People's Daily
story, the reporter quoted him as saying words against Falun Gong.
In an
incident in July 2001, the Chinese Consulate in New York held an “exposing and
criticizing Falun Gong forum,” and set up an “Anti-cult Association,” following
communist party tradition. However, “overseas Chinese leader” Liang Guanjun clearly
said that New York is one of the main battlefields in which Chinese people fight
with Falun Gong outside of China. He put the emphases on the education and transformation
of the young generation of Falun Gong practitioners, and repeated the “education
and transformation” mantra of the CCP. This method of “exposing and criticizing”
Falun Gong immediately spread through China via all the CCP mouthpieces, such
as the People's Daily and Xinhua News Agency. This created the false impression
that the whole world opposes Falun Gong.
However, the party mouthpieces
don't dare tell the Chinese people that Liang Guanjun was charged with six
crimes for beating Falun Gong practitioners on the streets of New York in June
2003. The Chinese people are not allowed to know that America is different from
China, and that “overseas Chinese leaders” cannot use violence to “educate and
transform” Falun Gong practitioners who call for an end to the persecution.
“La
Presse Chinoise” is a typical example of acting from inside in coordination with
attacking from outside. This Montreal-based Chinese newspaper published an “advertisement”
that slandered Falun Gong in November 2001, and then continuously reprinted several
dozen articles from the CCP libeling Falun Gong. Meanwhile, the CCP widely spread
the so-called news of “Canadian media and fellow Chinese exposing and criticizing
Falun Gong,” causing many relatives of Falun Gong practitioners in China to feel
horrified, thinking Falun Gong was also banned in Canada. Their minds were eased
when they were clearly informed by practitioners that the court had ordered the
newspaper not to defame Falun Gong. However, the Chinese people who have no channels
through which to learn the true situation still think that Falun Gong is banned
in Canada as it is in China.
11. Counterfeit Science
Defaming
Falun Gong using so-called “science” as a club has also proven very effective.
In the early propaganda of the CCP, Falun Gong practitioners were portrayed
as old, weak, sick and disabled, and as ignorant people without knowledge. “Political
scientists” like He Zuoxiu, who have defamed Falun Gong all along, appeared on
the scene again. Wielding the big stick of “science” and stating that “Falun Gong
is superstition,” and that those “ignorant people” do not understand science,
they criticized Falun Gong as if they occupied the high ground of science, so
they could brutally attack Falun Gong.
Among practitioners of Falun Gong
inside and outside of China, quite a large proportion of them are intellectuals,
experts and scientists. The CCP promotes atheism and materialism, and binds these
philosophies with science. They also establish organizations like “the scientific
materialism council,” and “the Anti-cult Association,” using so-called justifications
based on “scientific thinking methods” and a “scientific world view.” Even more
ridiculous, they regard the fallacy of Marxism, which has been spurned by everyone
in the world, and proven to be the enemy of human civilization, to be the avatar
of science, thereby arguing that scientist Falun Gong practitioners “have not
upheld the scientific thinking methods, and have not established a scientific
world view,” and so they therefore supposedly have blind faith in Falun Gong.
Of course, the so-called scientists used by the Party do not dare defame
the great masters of science such as Newton and Einstein, who also had strong
spiritual beliefs. Nor do they dare to regard the religions that numerous current
scientists believe in as superstitions. They do continue, however, to wave the
club of “science,” forcing people to cover their eyes and stay away from the truth,
so they can cover up the barbaric persecution of Falun Gong by the CCP. Jiang
Zemin's regime deeply believes it is legitimate no matter what it does. As
long as they can label Falun Gong as anti-science, they can regard the practitioners
who persist in “anti-science” as enemies of truth, the country and of the people,
just like the “anti-revolutionary” people in the old days. By this logic, how
could they be seen as too harsh in dealing with such a group?
Conclusion
During the last six years of persecution, Jiang Zemin and the CCP
have been continuously updating their fabricated lies against Falun Gong. Their
original lies cannot support the persecution, so they have to continuously make
new lies. The so called crimes of “anti-science” and “superstition” are not legitimate
reasons for a brutal persecution. Furthermore, false charges that Falun Gong promotes
suicide, murder and accumulating wealth by unfair means do not constitute an excuse
to persecute Falun Gong either. Needing more of a basis to sustain the persecution,
Jiang Zemin personally branded Falun Gong as a “cult,” incited the National People's
Congress to pass a so called “Anti-cult Law,” and described Falun Gong as being
harmful to society.
Falun Gong has spread to more than 60 countries
around the world, and it is commonly known that the principles of “Truthfulness,
Compassion, and Forbearance” raise morality. Because this was a threat to the
corruption of the CCP, the evilness of the repressors was stirred up. Afterwards,
the CCP claimed Falun Gong was “used by anti-Chinese influences” and was a “terrorist
organization” to further defame Falun Gong. The CCP regarded the condemnation
of the persecution from all over the world as libel against China, and used this
to further deceive the Chinese people who did not know the truth.
The CCP
clearly realizes its fabricated lies are not perfect. It does not expect everybody
to believe in those lies, and is certainly not afraid of people having doubts
in its lies. It is good enough if people are suspicious of Falun Gong. Many people
say: “I do not believe the words of the Chinese Communist Party, but I also do
not believe the words of Falun Gong.” This is the most reprehensible purpose of
the evil propaganda: to blind people from seeing kindness, and make them ignore
the evil.
In fact, every lie the CCP fabricates about Falun Gong aims at
the corruption of human nature. If you cherish life, it slanders Falun Gong with
claims of “suicide,” “murder,” even “killing many people;” if you cherish peace,
it libels Falun Gong as “harming social stability;” if you disdain laziness, it
describes Falun Gong as inducing people to “only to want to ascend to heaven,
and makes them not interested in anything.” If you long for your dear ones, it
says Falun Gong practitioners “do not recognize kinship,” and “kill relatives
in order to ascend to heaven;” if you abhor corruption, it defames Falun Gong
as “accumulating wealth by unfair means.” If you extremely hate the creation of
deities out of former leaders of the CCP in history, it claims Falun Gong is “personality
cult;” If you respect facts, it lets you see the self-immolation of living people;
if you love your country, it casts about to make itself synonymous with China,
and makes Falun Gong equate with “anti-Chinese influence;” if you abhor the darkness
of Chinese politics, it repeatedly charges that Falun Gong involves itself in
politics. In conclusion, as long as there is anything you approve of, you can
find an example of Falun Gong trampling it in the lies of the Chinese Communist
Party. Moreover, you can also find connection with Falun Gong of those things
about which you do not approve. Therefore, if you are not clear-headed enough,
you will say that you do not believe the propaganda of the Chinese Communist Party,
but at the same time, you will say “Falun Gong is wrong on such and such,” and
thereby become the victim of lies.
However, a lie is after all a lie. In
history, Hitler's lies killed millions of Jews, and he ultimately committed
suicide. His determined followers also received their deserved punishment. The
libeling and persecution of Jesus and Christians in history not only did not destroy
the spirit of Jesus, it destroyed the country and families of the suppressor.
As a matter of fact, the lies of the CCP have not just hurt Falun Gong
practitioners. Similarly, Nero's persecution of the Christians caused the
death and injury of many non-Christians. How many tragedies to non-practitioners
will the CCP cause in the persecution of Falun Gong?
