A candlelight Vigil in memory of Falun Gong practitioners tortured to death in
China was viewed by many people driving past on the busy four-lane Old Gold Coast
Highway. Our vigil was positioned on prime land opposite the huge Pacific Fair
Shopping complex and diagonally across from Jupiters Casino.
Banners in Chinese
and English were displayed to clearly share the extent of the persecution with
the Chinese and Western community, as well as visitors to the Gold Coast. Some
people on foot stopped to discuss and learn about the true facts of the on-going
torture of practitioners in China simply for following Truth, Compassion and Tolerance
in their everyday lives and practising the Falun Gong exercises in the parks.
