There
is a national multicultural festival held in Canberra, the capital city of Australia,
each year. This year they added a new event, the “Harmony Parade,” to bring people
with different cultural backgrounds together for a joyful event. This is the first
big parade of the festival, composed of over 60 different organizations and community
groups.

The
parade was held on the afternoon of Saturday, February 18. Despite the hot sun,
people in different ethnic costumes lined up joyfully in the central area of the
city. The parade started at 4:00 p.m. and lasted nearly two hours. Participants
joyfully sang and danced, attracting the crowd's attention.

The Falun
Dafa contingent presented a spectacular entry of more than 150 people with waist
drums, fan dancing, a float with exercise demonstrations, and ladies in beautiful
traditional Tang Dynasty costumes. The commentators mentioned that the practitioners'
contingent was the largest and most colorful entry in the parade. Afterwards,
the parade judges announced that the practitioners' contingent won the award
for the “Best Themed Entry.”

Practitioners from Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane,
Adelaide and Canberra participated in the parade.
