(Minghui.org) On July 4, 2025, Redwood City in the San Francisco Bay Area held its 86th annual grand parade, the largest Independence Day parade in Northern California. Falun Dafa practitioners were once again invited to participate and were welcomed by the organisers and spectators.
The practitioners’ procession consisted of practitioners demonstrating the Falun Dafa exercises, followed by a waist drum team and a float. Spectators applauded and cheered when they saw practitioners.
Parade Host Thanks Practitioners for Participating
When the Falun Dafa group passed the rostrum, the host introduced Falun Dafa’s principles, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and how practicing benefits mind and body.
The host also said, “Thank you Falun Dafa for participating. Your group is the largest. We are very happy that you are here. Redwood City welcomes you. The world absolutely needs Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.”
Parade Organiser: Falun Gong Practitioners Are Great
Jeff, one of the organisers from the Peninsula Celebration Association, was very happy to see practitioners. He said proudly that he still had the Falun Dafa flier he received last year. “I like the Falun Dafa team very much. They know what they are doing. Their colors are very bright and colorful. Everyone is very dedicated. They are great,” he said.
Redwood City Resident: We Need Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance
As soon as Joane, who lives near the starting point of the parade, saw the Falun Dafa team she began taking pictures. She liked the fact that there were men, women, young and old in the team. “This team is so beautiful. Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are so beautiful. It’s worth our effort to achieve this standard. We need Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance,” she said.
Locals Express Their Support For Falun Dafa
An Indian American woman said, “This team makes me feel relaxed. It’s great. Meditation and exercises are great. You’ve spread Falun Gong widely in the community. Falun Gong has made our lives better. I support Falun Dafa.”
Ingrie, a local resident, clapped her hands happily when she saw practitioners. She read the three words on the banner and said, “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. This is great! The Falun Dafa team is amazing. We should follow their steps and do what they are doing.”
Another resident Linda said she’s seen practitioners in the parade every year. “I like Falun Dafa. They are outstanding, very amazing,” she said.
Evelyn said the Falun Dafa exercise demonstration looked very relaxing. “What is happening in the world now makes people feel confused. Following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance can help people relieve stress, make our lives peaceful and healthy. That’s great,” she said.
Terilyn Anderson of the American Service Alliance in San Mateo said that Falun Dafa practitioners marched well and their exercise demonstrations were graceful.
Vinny, a member of a local band participating in the parade, had a Chinese knot on his musical instrument which had a bookmark bearing the words Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. He said, “I always carry it with me. I think if more people followed the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance, the world wouldn’t be as chaotic as it is now. Sincerity and kindness are so great.”
