In June 2003, practitioners participated in the local ‘World Environment Day’, an annual event on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, to promote and validate Dafa. Practitioners from Brisbane and the Gold Coast travelled hundreds of kilometres to attend the day’s activities.
An information stall was set up offering an array of truth-clarifying information to the public and continuous Dafa exercise demonstrations were presented throughout the day. Thousands from all over the Sunshine Coast attend this very popular event showcasing a host of local and international Environment Groups.
In the afternoon we held a one hour presentation of traditional Chinese dance including the beautiful ‘lotus dance’, the ‘parasol dance’ and the Tang Dynasty costume display. The performances were certainly a highlight of the day attracting hundreds of people to our colourful stall.
Many flyers were distributed throughout the event and much interest was observed in our truth-clarifying banners presenting information from the history of Falun Dafa to the details of the ongoing persecution. The contrast between the information and images of China’s brutal measures perpetrated against innocent Dafa practitioners with the beauty and peaceful expression of the exercises and dances offered further insight to the public in substantiating the facts of the unjust and abhorrent nature of Jiang’s ruling regime and the relentless campaign against the freedom of its own people.
Our speech to the public concluded with a message of hope for the future and a greater humanity, a world where the virtues and timeless qualities of ‘Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance’ prevail!
