About Falun Dafa
Brief Introduction
Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) is a spiritual practice that millions around the world have made a part of their lives. It consists of two main components: self-improvement through the study of universal principles based on Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance, and gentle exercises and meditation.
The practice was introduced to the public in May 1992 by Mr. Li Hongzhi and quickly gained popularity in China. People who began practicing Falun Dafa often found it to be life-changing. Many experienced dramatic health benefits as well as newfound energy, mental clarity, and stress relief. Soon, 100 million people were learning the practice.
Today, Falun Dafa is practiced in over 170 countries worldwide.
The teachings
Falun Dafa’s teachings are set forth in a number of texts, including the two key books.
Zhuan Falun is the central book of the practice & contains the complete teachings of Falun Dafa. It is a compilation of lectures given by Mr. Li Hongzhi in China between 1992 and 1994.
The book Falun Gong offers an introduction to the practice’s concepts, along with detailed description of the exercises.
