On 21August 2005, local Falun Dafa practitioners participated in the 27th annual
“Yandina Street Festival”, the longest-running fair on the Sunshine Coast. The
festive atmosphere of the area’s oldest township provided an ideal opportunity
to present the beauty of Falun Dafa.

Demonstrations
of the exercises were presented beside our information stall throughout the day
and practitioners were continuously kept busy offering truth-clarifying material
to the interested passers-by. Our young practitioners also joined in with our
exercise display and enthusiastically handed out colourful paper lotus flowers
with the “Petals of Peace” website typed on the bases to inform the public of
the ongoing plight of the countless Dafa children in China.

In
the afternoon, we held a 20-minute demonstration of the exercises on the street
stage followed by a 30-minute presentation of singing on the main stage in front
of many interested onlookers. Our local singing group, “One World”, consisting
of four female Western practitioners, shared some of their beautiful and original
compositions, bringing to the audience a greater awareness of the situation practitioners
are facing every day in China through their pure and enchanting voices. The group’s
final song, “Returning”, celebrates the nature of returning to our true selves
in our cultivation journey in Dafa.
Many hearts that day were indeed touched
by Dafa through our displays, receiving information on the practice and the persecution
and through our on stage performances.
