Georgia Resident, Dr. Huang Wanqing, is asking for help in finding his younger brother, Huang Xiong. Xiong is a Falun Gong practitioner who was forced to leave his home and wander the streets of China to avoid persecution. Dr. Huang has not heard from him in eight months.
Dr. Huang is very worried for his brother’s safety. He called the police in his hometown in China but no one knew where Xiong was. The last time Dr. Huang spoke with him, Xiong said that he was going to travel from Shanghai to Yunnan Province. Dr. Huang says Xiong could have been picked up anywhere during his travels.
Xiong Huang has a college degree with a major in computer science. He used to live in Furong Township, Wan An County, a small mountainous county in Jiangxi Province, China.
“My brother is very kind in nature,” Dr. Huang explained. “When he was little, he once went to shop for groceries with Grandma and he felt she bargained too much. On their way back home, he insisted on Grandma returning some of the money to the peasant who sold them the vegetables. He felt compassionate towards the peasant and felt that he should not have been taken advantage of. Yet there is no place such a good person … in the land of China.”
The Huang brothers have both practiced Falun Gong since 1996.
“Xiong had been to many places and told people that Falun Gong teaches benevolence. His efforts led many to know the truth, but it also caused him to be chased by the police, and he had to continue his fleeing. Nevertheless, he never stopped telling people about the truth of Falun Gong,” Dr. Huang said of his brother.
Dr. Huang explained that he and his brother were very close growing up. “When my brother was arrested and beaten, I almost felt his pain in the U.S.; when he was being chased around, I often felt sleepless at night.”
Dr. Huang is the second Georgia resident to report that a family member is being persecuted in China for practicing Falun Gong. Another Falun Gong practitioner, Sam Lu, a past government officer in China, fled to the United States to avoid persecution because he practices Falun Gong. His wife, also a Falun Gong practitioner, has been detained in a Chinese labor camp in Guangdong Province for three years. Lu has had no contact with her during this time.
