At 10:00 am on a brisk Sunday Morning in Sydney, over 58,000
participants amassed, eagerly awaiting the start to the 33rd City to
Surf race. One could spot both old and young, large and small, focused
individuals and excited team members. The atmosphere was one of
excitement with constant cheers from the huge crowds as the start was
announced. Among them were over twenty participants of the Falun Dafa
team, with ages ranging from 16 to 80!
Before the race the Falun Dafa team performed the meditation exercise
of the practice, which drew many curious looks from the other
participants. It also drew the attention of the Channel 10 TV news team who
interviewed one practitioner and asked if meditation would help us win
the race. “We are not here to break any records! We are here to participate and to support this activity” the practitioner replied,
followed by an explanation of how fit everyone was from practicing
Falun Dafa!

Before the race had began and for the next 14km’s other participants
who read the shirts of the Falun Dafa team began asking practitioners,
“What is Falun Dafa?” and “Why does your shirt say Truthfulness,
Compassion and Forbearance?”
Nearly 4 hours and 14km’s later as the Falun Dafa team was announced at
the finish line, applause and cheers could be heard from the spectators
at Bondi Beach. As a result of the teams participation many people had
got to know about Falun Dafa and many spectators and participants were
happy to have received Falun Dafa materials.
