Every September to October in Australia, the city of Canberra hosts a spring flower festival known as Floriade. Many thousands of people come from all over the world to walk through the beautiful display gardens. This year the theme was ‘Heavens in Bloom’, and the Canberra Falun Dafa practitioners took up the invitation from the organisers to demonstrate the exercises and hand out lotus flowers with information about Falun Dafa, a genuine example of the ‘Heaven’s in Bloom’.
Floriade has been a great cultivation opportunity for the Canberra practitioners to clarify the facts. In 2001 we were excluded from the festival because of misunderstandings that we were ‘political’. Through a righteous heart and by clarifying the facts to the organisers, in 2002 we were allowed to hold many exercise demonstrations and performances of traditional Chinese dress and fan dancing on one of the stages. Our behaviour and performances both touched the organisers and changed their view of Falun Dafa. Our activity was most effective, and we received the Certificate of Thanks from the Canberra Tourism & Events Corporation.

This year we were given a prime position directly amongst the flowers on the main walkway through the festival, and many hundreds of people walked by and stopped to take a flower or ask about the exercises.
Also, due to the rarity of boy & girl twins in China, two beautiful
young children of Falun Dafa practitioners drew quite a bit of attention from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and western visitors to the Festival, allowing us to speak with many people and
demonstrate that Dafa practitioners have active family lives and are valuable members
of the community.
