Battered Body Shows Cruel Death Case in China

WARNING: DISTURBING
PICTURES OF TORTURED VICTIM ENCLOSED

Mr. Li Yinglin,
a Falun Gong practitioner has recently been verified as having died from internal
injuries sustained from the beating. All of his toenails were broken off, a square
piece of flesh was cut out of his left heel, his genitals and other areas of his
body were covered in blue and purple patches. When he was sent home on November
14, his whole body was battered from the beatings he received.

When Mr.
Li’s wife – Mrs. Ji Yueying saw her husband she said “I almost couldn’t recognize
him. His eyes were motionless, his legs were swollen, and he could not walk. He
needed assistance to come into our home. His mouth had been shocked by an electric
baton to the point of turning black. He could not talk or eat.”

On
November 15 , Mr. Li drifted in and out of consciousness. While alert he said
“The bad people in Beijing beat me badly. I lost consciousness twice …
I don’t know how long it lasted.” On November 20 2003 he completely lost
consciousness and died. Even in a critical condition Mr. Li was threatened by
the police at No. 7 People’s Hospital. A police officer from the Huayanglu Police
Station threatened Mr. Li saying “He practices Falun Gong. He has a beating
coming.”

Mr. Li’s wife requested that the related personnel tell her
who the murderer was and to have the medical examiner take a look at her husband’s
body. She was charged 1,800 yuan for an autopsy. When the doctor examined the
body he said “The gallbladder is so small and has reached such a state that
this person must have been severely beaten.” He concluded that Mr. Li’s other
internal organs were also severely damaged – his liver was swollen, his intestines
were damaged and he had lost a lot of blood. One of the policemen present stared
at the doctor briefly and then looked at Mr. Li’s son, hinting that the doctor
should stop talking.

Responsibility for Mr. Li’s brutal death was shifted
among the Sifang Rolling Stock Plant where Mr. Li was employed, the Huayanglu
Police Station, the Huayanglu neighbourhood office, the northern branch of the
city police department, and others.

Family members are seeking the person
responsible for Mr. Li’s death however related departments continue to shift responsibility.
The Chinese Police also encouraged Mr. Li’s sisters to take possession of the
house and all belongings owned by Mr. Li and his wife leaving Mr. Li’s wife homeless.

“At present, in China, millions of practitioners are being persecuted
and even killed by Jiang’s regime. Even our basic rights are being deprived. This
is the so-called, ‘best period for human rights in China’… What crime is
being committed when citizens peacefully appeal to the authorities as guaranteed
by the Chinese Constitution?” said Mrs. Ji Yueying, Mr. Li’s wife.
