There has been a call for Australia's Immigration Minister to show compassion and stop the deportation of a Chinese couple who practise Falun Gong.
The call has come from the Falun Dafa organisation in the state of New South Wales.
66 year-old Wang Jun Taw and 62 year-old Wang Lilaun were due to be deported yesterday, but were removed from the aircraft after Mr Wang complained of suffering heart problems.
The couple have been refused refugee status and the Department of Immigration says they will be deported today.
But Falun Dafa spokesman John Deller says the couple are well known to authorities and are certain to suffer persecution if they are sent to back to China.
