ABC Radio Australia: Falun Gong linked to Australian woman’s arrest in China

The husband of an Australian woman who has been arrested in China says her detention is unjustified.

34-year-old Nancy Chen, a falungong practioner, has been arrested and detained in an undisclosed city in south west China’s Sichuan province.

Falun Gong is a banned illegal xx in China and it’s believed her links to the group led to her arrest.

Ms Chen’s husband, Herbert Lu, says he’s very worried about his wife as he hasn’t been able to make contact with her.

Mr Lu says she hasn’t done anything wrong.

“She’s a falungong practitioner yes. But she didn’t practice falungong in China,” he says.

“Just because she’s a member of falungong, she got arrested,” Mr Lu adds.
