Re: Deportation of Mr and Mrs Li and Persecution of Falun Gong

I am writing to you about 2 very important issues. The first is the proposed deportation of Falun Gong Practitioners, Mr and Mrs Li, back to China. The second is Foreign Minister Alexander Downer’s issuing of certificates that restrict appeals outside the Canberra Chinese Embassy addressing the Chinese Government’s persecution.. I am requesting a few minutes of your time to read my letter as this is a serious issue and is related to every one of us.
The rejection of Mr and Mrs Li’s asylum application alerts us that our Australian government still does not understand the depth and extent of this persecution that has lasted for six years. The German Government is now facing the consequence of a similar decision. On 7th March 2005 The German Government deported Jiang Renzheng and his wife Guo Rui, Falun Gong practitioners who had requested asylum in Germany. The German Government considered them ‘ordinary’ Falun Gong practitioners rather than ‘leaders’ and thus believed they would be safe from persecution. Jiang was arrested by Chinese authorities on April 8 and sentenced to Benxi forced Labour Camp for 3 years without legal proceedings. Now the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs are attempting to assist his release. This is a serious lesson for any country considering deportation of Falun Gong practitioners to China.
In addition we are deeply concerned about the monthly certificates severely restricting our peaceful appeal outside the Chinese Embassy in Canberra. Foreign Minister Downer has been signing these certificates every month now for the last three years. The certificates prevent us from having fixed banners or amplified sound and this makes it extremely difficult to effectively communicate our message to the public. Please view the enclosed DVD in which Foreign Minister Alexander Downer is interviewed by Sara Ferguson from channel Nine’s Sunday show. It is quite clear from his responses that he does not accept or understand the severity of this persecution.
IN 2002 the lack of response by our government to the attempted assassination of Australian citizen and Falun Gong practitioner Mr David Liang in South Africa has also led us to believe that in our government still does not understand. Yet our Government can appeal for clemency for convicted drug traffickers but not innocent people who meditate?
The persecution of Falun Gong does not just happen within China, even Australian citizens are experiencing it. Australian Falun Gong practitioners have been receiving all kinds of harassment and interference in Australia as former First Secretary of Sydney Chinese Consulate Mr Chen Yonglin exposed to the media. See DVD. The harassment of Australian citizens by Chinese Consulates and Embassy in Australia include covert surveillance, control of Chinese media (TV, radio, newspaper) to spread hate propaganda against Falun Gong practitioners; property damage and physical assaults upon individuals. This has been going on for many years. The most recent and prominent case was the vandalising of the Falun Gong car reported by Sydney morning Herald on 1 September 2005 .
The persecution has lasted for six and a half years and includes but is not limited to the following:
• Death toll of 2780 confirmed (as at 20 November 2005
• More than one hundred different types of torture methods have been used;
• Millions illegally arrested and incarcerated without trial;
• Practitioners sacked from jobs, expelled from schools, and evicted from their homes;
• Husbands and wives forced to divorce if one was a practitioner;
• Female practitioners raped and subjected to forced abortions;
• Tens of thousands have left their homes and become itinerant to avoid being persecuted further;
• Many people are simply “missing” – no figures available;
• Up to a quarter of a million children have lost one or both parents with many being left to wander the streets alone;;

Given the fact that information is hard to get in or out of China the real toll of deaths and incarcerations are much higher.
This human right crisis has been viewed by many Human Rights campaigners and organisations as the biggest crimes against humanity and genocide since the WWII Holocaust. We believe that the whole truth about the persecution will only be fully revealed after the persecution is stopped and the information blockade of China is removed. And then the world will weep.
A commonly asked question and it may also be a question in your mind too is – why is Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecuting Falun Gong? The world knows that many Communist States have committed mass murder crimes, especially the Chinese Communist Party. In its 55 years of ruling history, it has murdered 80 million of its own people in peace times. Falun Gong practitioners are only one of the victim groups. CCP does not allow people’s own way of thinking or belief. They brainwash and persecute its people campaign after campaign.
Simply put the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is persecuting Falun Gong because we practise Truth Compassion and Tolerance which is in start contrast to the Chinese Communist Party’s principles of Deception, Murder and Persecution. This persecution encourages people all over the world to turn a blind in favour of trade relations with China and because of this is destroying all of which is the very best in Humanity. Therefore we have all been victims of the Chinese Communist Party and its persecution of Falun Gong.
I would like recommend the book “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party” as to your reference to understand how the CCP was established, what they have done to its people and what they are doing now to Chinese people and the rest of the world. I have sent to all Senators and MP’s in WA a copy of the 9 Commentaries earlier this year. Chapter 5 is all about the persecution of Falun Gong. http://ninecommentaries.com/
Falun Gong practitioners are good people who behave in society and do not commit crimes anywhere. Any country would be happy to have so many peaceful law abiding citizens who merely would like to practise our belief without harassment or interference.
I personally have benefited in all areas of my life thru practising this meditation practice. By embodying truthfulness compassion and tolerance in my life I stopped drinking after only 3 weeks and my body was cleaned up of the illnesses that I had as a women approaching mid life age. I bring up my 5 children with sound morals and respect for all life and they also have benefited from practising Falun Gong. They have been able to resist the temptations of youth and peer pressure while still remaining popular and successful at school.
As I said any country would be happy to have such law abiding and peaceful citizens. Of the 70 countries around the world where Falun Gong practitioners live only the Chinese Communist Party is trying to exterminate us. Just like the Christians who were persecuted for 300 years Falun Gong will not be eradicated.
Jiang Jemin (the former leader of the CCP) predicted that Falun Gong would be eradicated in 3 months.. Yet six years later we are stronger and more solid in our belief that this violent world needs truth compassion and tolerance.
Only support from people of all walks of life can stop this persecution. We have a lot of support from the citizens of Australia. We have the largest human rights petition ever tabled in Australian Parliament. We need parliaments support to help stop this persecution. Would you please request the Minister of Immigration to stop the deportation of Mr and Mrs Li’s back to China where they will face torture and death? Would you please ask the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to do more to stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China and to stop the monthly certificates signed by Mr. Downer? Many innocent lives depend on the righteousness and power of democratic countries to keep the peace in this world. Terrorism is not just from the Arab world. The worst state terrorism is from the largest fasting growing power in the world -China. Do you really think that the CCP will stop its history of violence when it becomes the number one power in the world? Its time to speak out know for a peaceful and safe future.
