“This Was Not a Random Drive-by Shooting”

Re: Australian Citizen Shot in South Africa

This Was Not a Random Drive-by Shooting – say Aussie Falun Gong practitioners in Pretoria. Australian High Commission Employee’s Claim is Unfounded

Australian (FDI) – Further details have emerged about the shooting of Falun Gong practitioner
David Liang in South Africa. According to William Wei, an Australian citizen living
in Sydney, who was a passenger in the car, the incident happened very quickly
and the gunman used a military AK-47 assault rifle and fled immediately. He believes
the attack was related to the visit of two Chinese officials to South Africa.
During previous overseas visits, the two officials have had lawsuits filed against
them for crimes against humanity.

Falun Gong practitioners worldwide remain undeterred and will continue to carry
out all lawsuits as planned, until the criminals responsible for the brutal
persecution are all brought to justice.

The division is growing between those within the Chinese government who want
to stop the persecution and Jiang Zemin’s faction who resist. The criminals
have become increasingly fearful of setting foot overseas as one by one they
have been served papers charging them with crimes against humanity. “When
their crimes are fully revealed they won’t have any diplomatic protection, no
matter where they go,” said Melbourne FDI spokesperson Caterina Vereshaka.

Mr. Wei also reiterated today in a telephone conversation with spokesperson
Caterina Vereshaka, “None of us said that this was non-related to the Chinese
officials’ visit. None of us said anything different to Mr. Brian Jarrington,
who is the first Assistant at the Australian Embassy here, when he came to visit
David at the hospital. But he [Mr. Jarrington] did not want to talk about Falun
Gong at all.”

An article from news.com.au yesterday claimed, “A Department of Foreign
Affairs and Trade spokeswoman said a passenger in the car told Australian consular
officials he believed the shooting was unrelated to Falun Gong activity”.
Mr. Wei was very concerned to hear about such a claim by DFAT. “We don’t
believe at all that this was a random drive-by shooting. None of us said such
a thing to anyone,” said Mr. Wei.

In China, the order to “shoot at will” has been in place for a long
time and it is part of the campaign of state terrorism against Falun Gong practitioners.
In democratic countries around the world, Jiang and his accomplices find it
much harder to carry out their persecution, although they have been trying for
the past 5 years. Two years ago, an employee of the Chinese Embassy in Canberra
assaulted a Falun Gong practitioner in broad daylight in front of the Embassy.
Practitioners have received threatening phone calls, their phones have been
tapped and their homes ransacked with nothing but Falun Gong material taken.

On 10 June 1999, Jiang Zemin’s regime bypassed China’s judiciary mechanisms
and established the notorious “610 Office” to persecute Falun Gong.
During the past five years, “610 Offices” have operated above the
law and in violation of international treaties and in fact China’s own constitution.
There is evidence that Bo Xilai and Zeng Qinghong have been instrumental in
ensuring that “610 Offices” carry out the brutal persecution of innocent
Falun Gong practitioners with full force.

“Orders from the 610 Office: Practitioners Can Be Shot at Will”.

According to a report from Clearwisdom.net on 30 June 2003, reliable sources
verified that in early April of 2003, the headquarters of the “610 Office”
issued some new regulations to its subordinate offices stating that “The
police can, without warning, shoot practitioners who they judge to be resisting
arrest”. The previous regulation said that the police had to give some
warning shots first, and the police could shoot at the practitioners only if
they still did not submit to the arrest. The new regulation means that the people
from the “610 Office” can shoot practitioners at will. All they need
to do afterwards is say that the practitioners resisted arrest.
