Queensland: Falun Dafa Practitioners Join Sunshine Coast Sugar Festival (Photos)

On August 2nd 2003, practitioners from Brisbane, the Gold Coast
and the Sunshine Coast areas participated in the Sugar Festival in Nambour Township.
This is the only parade in the Sunshine Coast area and attracts thousands of
visitors every year.

The practitioners decorated a boat-shaped
float for the parade. The sail was imprinted with the words “Truthfulness
Compassion Tolerance”. On the “boat”, several practitioners were demonstrating
the exercises accompanied by a few young practitioners holding lanterns.

The visitors were impressed by the Falun Dafa possession and the host was
also very impressed and praised the beauty of the Falun Dafa procession. When
we passed a railway bridge, a train was just driving over slowly. The passengers
on the train waved to the practitioners. The destination of the parade was a
park. The practitioners had already set up a booth, tables and display boards
and demonstrated the exercises to the visitors.

In the afternoon, the practitioners performed one hour of art programs including
lotus dance, fan dance, heavenly lady dance, and exercise demonstrations in
between. The last item on the program was five western practitioners singing
a song composed by a fellow practitioner entitled “Call from the Heart.” Three
ladies performed a dance during the song as well. The song reflects the call
and hope from the hearts of thousands of practitioners being persecuted in China.
Many in the audience were moved to tears.

Many people requested Falun Dafa introductory flyers, watched the demonstrations
and talked to the practitioners. The beauty of Falun Dafa entered the hearts
of many people.
