Hundreds of people have gathered outside Parliament House in Canberra to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners in China.
Falun Dafa is the practice of ancient exercises and meditation and has been banned in China since 1999.
During that time, it is estimated up to 500 practitioners have been tortured to death and 20,000 have been sent to labour camps.
Democrats leader Andrew Bartlett this afternoon launched a campaign to help rescue family members imprisoned in China.
