“Please Give Falun Gong a Fair Go”

By a Sydney Falun Dafa practitioner

There are two sides to every story so please give Falun Gong a fair go.

With regards to the upcoming lawsuit against Jiang Zemin I am writing from
Australia to appeal to America to uphold its high standard on human rights.

It must not be that America bomb Iraq but then sit on its hands (and actually
shake hands) with people in an oppressive regime like in China that continues
with genocidal tactics that systematically and continuously target innocent
people.

I appeal to America’s judicial system to consciously face the facts and the
underlying issues with a heart of compassion for all mankind. Yes, there are
two sides to every story so please give the Falun Gong story a fair and just
hearing.

The very real perception that America and other good countries including Australia
are turning a blind eye to human rights issues in China in the race to position
oneself in a perceived rapidly developing country is morally wrong. Yes, we
do need to grow and prosper but not at the expense of precious human lives –
where wanton violence against innocent people is now a regular feature of urban
life.

America, Britain and Australia humanely and rightly so tried to avoid ‘human
collateral’ during the Iraq war and it’s to be highly commended. But what about
the ‘human collateral’ within a country of a potential trading partner? Is it
simply a matter of “that country’s responsibility?” or is it the responsibility
of all caring and compassionate people around the world?

I am a Falun Gong practitioner and have voluntarily proofread many of the hundreds
of human rights abuses statements for Amnesty International. I sincerely believe
that a great country like America is our best hope in turning humanity away
from the great abyss from which it is headed. Please give Falun Gong a fair
and just hearing.
