RE: FALUN GONG PRACTITIONERS IMPRISONED IN CHINA
I am regularly in contact with local practitioners of Falun Gong here in my
electorate.
I have been informed about the appalling treatment that Falun Gong practitioners
are receiving in China, and am aware that 14 relatives of Australian citizens
and residents are being detained in China for practising Falun Gong.
I am writing to urge you to raise this issue with the Chinese President Jiang
Zemin at the upcoming October meeting of APEC. The President should release
these prisoners immediately and stop the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners.
